*I received a pair of sunglasses from Visionworks to facilitate this giveaway. All opinions are my own.
If you’re a mom of small kids, when is the last time you cleaned out your diaper bag? Honestly, besides adding wipes and diapers to mine, I couldn’t tell you when I last went through it.
Fortunately, I’m in LOVE with my diaper bag and it’s really easy to keep organized. But, my challenge is keeping up with the maintenance. I have three kids and everyone’s needs are different, so the contents of the bag changes rather quickly.
A new season is a great reminder to go out with the old and in with new. Be sure to update some of these essentials before you add some spring items.
- Check all diapers and make sure the ones in your bag reflect the diapers your baby is wearing
- Check expiration dates on products in your bag to ensure they didn’t expire.
- Baby powder, diaper creme, lotion, hand sanitizer etc…
- Swap out extra clothes for season appropriate ones
- Take out current toys and put in new ones
Besides the basics, here are five *new* things I’ve added to my bag this spring.
Josie Maran’s Argan Balm
This natural, multitasking item will be your go-to for diaper rash, chapped lips, rough hands and frizzy hair! The balm creates a barrier on the skin to seal in hydration and offer nourishment. It works instantly, I swear!
Block Island Organics Baby Block
I used Block Island Organics Baby Block SPF 30 Sunscreen on both of my kids last summer and I love it. It’s lightweight, fragrance free, safe for babies 6 months and up and good for all skin types. The Baby Block provides hours of all natural, UVA/UVB protection.
Babyganics Natural Insect Repellant
Now, that we’ll all be spending more time outside we’ve gotta get rid of what’s buggin’ our babies. This natural DEET free insect repellent is a great product to keep inside your diaper bag. The natural essential aromatic oils (Citronella, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lemongrass & Geranium) are safe for baby and the whole family. The blend is pungent to insects, especially mosquitoes, and smells great!
BooginHead SplatMat
This portable, 52″ round mat is compact and fits neatly in a purse or diaper bag. It’s great for picnics, parks and beaches. The SplatMat provides a portable clean surface for your children to sit on. Easy to clean. Just wipe with soapy water!
Sunglasses
Don’t forget about mom! Protect your eyes, and skin, from the sun with the help of your favorite accessory. The bigger the sunglasses the better! Visionworks new spring 2015 line of sunglasses are both great for protecting your eyes and great for perfecting your outfit.

I must pack a sun hat in my diaper bag this year. My baby has no hair and I don’t want a burned baby scalp!
