Every year when a new school year starts for my kids, I still get this feeling like something new is beginning for me, too.
I love that feeling.
And I just love this quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
Besides getting ready to decorate my house for fall, I’ve ordered new suede boots for myself (the first time in awhile!) and got a few new clothing items for the season.
My wardrobe has been a bit of an issue as of late. I’m four months post partum and most of my pants don’t fit the way they used to. And I’ve come to terms with the fact they may never fit the way I want them to again. My body has carried four children and that’s pretty amazing. If I need to dress accordingly, no biggie! 🤰🏻🤷🏻♀️
And those four children certainly keep me busy.
Every day I’m in the car traveling to and from school, hanging on the playground and channeling my inner traffic cop on our street while the kids scooter at high speeds.
Days like that call for comfortable and active clothes, but it’s tough to find that with style.
I wish I were joking when I say that I wore the pants you see in the above photo three days in a row. So, it’s looking like I need to grab another pair!
They are from prAna and are their Uptown Pant in Coal.
I LOVE that they have an elastic waist. The flat front is styled with a drawcord for a more customized, relaxed fit. And they are mid-rise; perfect for me to pull up over my stomach that is still a bit sore from my c-section.
These pants are stylish enough to dress up a bit with flats and a sweater or casual enough to pair with sneakers and a t-shirt. You just can’t go wrong with the Uptown Pant. They are the softest pants I own, so there’s no doubt that I will be living in these this fall.

Besides my new, favorite pants. I’ve also added a dress to my closet. I’m loving the Ellis Dress from prAna because it also has a relaxed fit. It’s easy to move around in and is cut from an organic cotton/polyester blend. It kind of feels like a really soft sweatshirt.
This fall, I’ll probably pair my dress with leggings, but it looks super cute with bare legs, too. Comfort and style is the name of this game, moms!
