Now that my daughter has taken a huge interest in chalk, crayons and stickers, I find myself wanting to create masterpieces with her. The trouble is, she’s still young and can’t work scissors or glue, but she can definitely help.
I sought out for some easy kid Christmas crafts on the internet, and voila! Lots of activities were at my fingertips.
Here are some that I love and will definitely be doing. P.S. Can you tell I’m all about hand prints? Even my Thanksgiving turkey craft had a hand print!
HAND AND FOOT PRINT REINDEER
Age: 3-8
Courtesy: KinderArt
What You Need:
White paper
Pencils
Markers, crayons, paint (your choice)
Glue (glue sticks)
Safety scissors
What You Do:
First, have child trace one of their feet (with shoes on) on one sheet of paper. Or moms, you can trace it if you have a smaller child.
Next, child or mom will trace each of their hands on another sheet of paper.
Then, child can cut out their hand and foot prints. Again, moms that’s for you to do for smaller kiddos.
The footprint becomes the reindeer’s head.
The hand prints become the reindeer’s antlers.
Kids can use glue to assemble their reindeer.
Kids can use markers, crayons, paint, etc. to color in their reindeer.
Features such as eyes and a nose can be added with markers, crayons or paint.
HAND PRINT SANTA
Age: Any

This one can also be used as the front of a Christmas card or as a gift for a grandparent or relative. You could always scan the craft and use the image as a screen saver too!
What You Need:
Scissors
Glue
Cotton balls
White paint
Construction paper (white, tan, red, green, black)
What You Do:
Start by dipping the palm of their hand in white paint. Make a print of their hand toward the bottom of a sheet of green construction paper.
Cut a head and nose out of tan construction paper and glue it to the top of the hand.
Cut a Santa shaped hat out of red construction paper, and eyes out of black construction paper. Glue both in place.
Cut a hat brim out of white construction paper, or line the bottom of his hat with pulled apart cotton balls to make a brim. Glue a white cotton ball to the tip of his hat.
You can also use white construction paper or cotton balls for his mustache, and eyebrows.
POM POM ORNAMENTS
Age: Any
Courtesy: Skip to My Lou
When we make these two, I’m definitely going to give one to my mom so she can have it on her tree. Chloé will be so proud to see something she made hanging at Mimi’s house!
What You Need:
1 inch pom poms
tacky glue
recycled cardboard from cereal boxes
hole puncher
piece of ribbon for hanging (and for a bow on the wreath)
What You Do:
Cut the shapes and punch the hole for hanging.
***Candy Cane and Pom Pom template from Skip to My Lou
Add the ribbon for hanging before adding the pom poms.
Cut out the shapes for your kids if they’re too little and have them help apply lots of glue.
Have your child carefully placed each pom pom on the cardboard.
**Tip***When finished you can put a plate on top for a few minutes to get the edges of the pom poms glued to the cardboard.
Have fun making these easy Christmas crafts! I’m going to make the ornaments this weekend.
