Saying my children love Disney Pixar Cars is an understatement. They are true fanatics. We have so many die-cast vehicles that I’ve been pinning ideas on how to build a garage to store them in.
And when new die-cast cars come out, of course, my son wants to add them to his collection.
Toys R Us actually has some models that are exclusive to their store, so we went there to pick a couple of them up. There are so many to choose from like, Hudson Hornet, Antonio Veloce Eccellente and Green Ramone.
We already have two Lightning McQueens, Tow Mater, Fillmore and Sally.
The day we went to Toys R Us, we picked up Ramone, Costanzo Della Corsa and Chick Hicks. My son calls Chick Hicks “Mean Guy.” It’s super cute!

We now officially own enough vehicles for everyone in the house to use during a race. We just needed to find a place to hold our own Piston Cup.
My kids usually carry the die-cast cars in their tiny hands and drive them up my walls, tables and furniture. That’s their way of being creative on a rainy day!
But, I said my walls are a big “no-no” and we needed to create an actual place to race them on.
In my children’s playroom we have a train table that has roads, parking lots and buildings. Normally, there are train tracks built on it, but one day I said “Clear everything off it, we’re going to use it as our racetrack!”

This was the perfect impromptu track for us because the road was already built in, we just had to make a clear track and end point for our race cars.
My five-year-old came up with the idea to use fake trees to keep us on course and in line. Great idea!

We tried to think of outdoor places to hold our car race, too. And two other fun ideas include, down the slide on a swing set and the side-walk.
When we’re ready to build our outdoor racetrack, we will draw one on our walkway. That way we could control how big or small it would be.
Unfortunately, we are expecting rain a couple of days this week, so that idea will have to be put on hold. But, Disney’s free Cars Daredevil app may be just the thing I need to fuel their racing moods!
The free app offers 9 different tracks that take twists and turns through the beach and the backyard!
Children can join Lightning McQueen, Mater and many other Cars characters as they race through virtual worlds.
I’m usually looking for something to keep my kids busy while I shower and this app definitely does the job!
Fun Features
- Boost your speed and take on twisted loops, jumps and turns.
- Grow your Daredevil garage by scanning over 160 actual physical Mattel die-cast cars to stunt with in the app.
- It was super easy to scan the cars. We just placed our car on a piece of white paper and it immediately added the vehicle to our garage.

Things to keep in mind
- Before you download, consider that this app contains in-app purchases.
- Die-cast vehicles that are supported by the app can be found on the app’s description page.
We plan on taking a couple of road trips this month with the kids and this app is a fun alternative to racing while in the car. Good thing it’s free, cause I’ll have to download it on my husband’s phone too, as I know each kid will want to play it!
What do you do to keep your kids entertained when they’re playing inside?

Love this idea and perfect for inside days! #client
