We’ve got less than seven weeks to go before Baby Boy Buteau makes his debut, and I was lucky enough to get ‘sprinkled’ with some much-needed necessities from family and friends over the holiday weekend.
For those who haven’t heard (believe me, I didn’t know either at first!), a baby sprinkle is a step below a baby shower.
Rather than a huge bash, the mommy can gather with her closest friends and family and receive her baby must-haves. Usually, baby sprinkles are more for women who are becoming a mom for the second time around who already had a baby shower for their firstborn.
We had a great afternoon at my house Saturday celebrating for the arrival of baby boy. We dined on fruit with cheese and crackers, yummy calzones from my best friend’s restaurant, (Tomaselli Brothers is in Cranston and sooooo delicious!), homemade hummus, homemade cookies and cupcakes! They were all perfect afternoon snacks.
You can see in the photo that even my best buddy Riley is waiting for something to drop off my plate while I chat with my friends!
I had a wonderful afternoon catching up with some people I haven’t seen in months, and I’m thankful they were able to spend some time with me to sprinkle this lucky little boy.
Some of the much needed items I received as gifts were bottle nipples, a new diaper pail, bath towels, a BundleMe for the car seat and some adorable clothes.
Looking forward to the new year! Thanks again to my mom and sister for organizing my sprinkle!

I think it’s funny how they have “sprinkles” now! I went to one this summer. This one looked nice!
Courtney Buteau says
Times certainly do change fast that’s for sure! Thanks Kristin!

I think my comment just got eaten, but I love the idea of a sprinkle and will be keeping that in mind for my friends who have second and third babies. Also, you look fab!
Courtney Buteau says
Thanks Joanna! It was def nice to have a low-key little afternoon. No games, just chit chat and snacks. My kind of afternoon. ๐

So sweet!! Love the idea of a sprinkle. ๐ You look absolutely amazing – I can’t believe you’re 32 weeks pregnant!
Courtney Buteau says
Aw thanks Jane! I can’t believe I’m 32 weeks pregnant either! haha

Glad you enjoyed your day!! I was SO happy to throw it for you (along with mom). It was a first for me to hear of a “sprinkle” but I totally loved the whole idea!! I think anyone who has a baby whether it be a second or third, it’s nice to have a get together and have mom and baby be spoiled. Can’t wait to meet my nephew in less than 7 weeks!!

Amazing how in a matter of two and half years these new trends come up. I bet we’ll be seeing lots more sprinkles in our future!

I’ve never heard of a sprinkle, but I love it! I feel like there should be a sprinkle with every child you have, no matter the sex. LOL. I could have used stuff each time! So excited for you and your baby boy!
Courtney says
Totally! It’s amazing how much stuff one little can need! ๐

I love it – a SPRINKLE rather than a SHOWER for the second. So cute. SUCH a great idea! I wish you the best with baby boy Buteau, Courtney.
Courtney says
Thanks so much Jackie!

My friend got me a manicure gift certificate as a gift, so the pampering continues! ๐

I am so jealous you had a sprinkle. We had two different sex kids so that would had been nice. Luckily mama!!
Courtney says
It’s definitely helpful now that I’ll have different sex kids because everything I currently have is pink! ๐

The food sounds delicious and it’s great to see old friends. My sister gave me a sprinkle, the best gift I got was a double stroller since my oldest was only 11 months old when my second was born.
Courtney says
Oooh that is a GREAT gift! I’m wondering if I’ll need one of those too actually, you’ll have to fill me in on how you like yours.
