Virtual Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season

November 16, 2016 By Courtney

This is a sponsored post by Challenge Dairy. Because I am a Challenge Butter Ambassador and fan of Challenge products, I have incorporated them into this post. All opinions are my own.

Thanksgiving is next week. I’m officially excited for the holiday season. I bought three gifts today and somehow feel accomplished.

Now that I’ve started shopping I’m also opening up the conversation to my kids that while they are making their Christmas lists they also need to help me decide what toys we are going to buy for Toys for Tots.

We’ve been donating to this organization for years and I like that my kids get to help pick out a toy for another child and come with me to drop it off. It gives them a chance to think about others less fortunate and not to focus on what they want for Christmas.

We’ve donated to food drives for their school and for the Boy Scouts, but there are so many wonderful organizations that could use the help this time of year and all year, actually.

So, while you’re thinking about ways to help, I’ve found a few different ways for you to consider.

3 Virtual Ways to Give Back

Challenge’s Pin a Recipe, Feed a Child

Through a Pinterest campaign where for every recipe pinned, Challenge Dairy will donate a meal to UNICEF to feed a child in need. Challenge has committed to provide up to 75,000 meals through this campaign. The campaign raises awareness an offers an easy way for people step in and help.

You’ll find easy, family friendly and holiday-focused recipes on Challenge’s Pinterest board that would be perfect additions to the family dinner table this holiday season.

The campaign is open now through December 31, 2016.

Be a virtual volunteer

If you don’t have a lot of spare time, virtual volunteering may be for you. There are a ton of online opportunities out there where can be charitable from home when your schedule allows.

Search for virtual opportunities on –> Volunteer Match.

Stay active and give back

If you’ve been meaning to participate in a charity run but didn’t sign up, there’s another way you can keep active while giving back. The iOS and Android app Charity Miles helps you earn up to 25 cents per mile for your charity of choice. There are more than 30 world-class charities to choose from.

What are some ways you and your family give back throughout the year?
