Two of my three kids are school age and they are so excited to bring in Valentine’s cards for their class.
One year we bought cards (who am I kidding? It’s quicker!) And last year we made them. I’m undecided about which way we’ll go for this February 14. 🤔
But, each year we do make a keepsake for their grandparents. They love showcasing their artwork and it makes for a great DIY gift.
I love me a good hand print or fingerprint craft and this one does not disappoint.
My 4-year-old actually made it for me in preschool and I loved it so much I wanted my other two to make one just like it for their grandparents.
Below is my own version of the craft. You can turn it into a card, put it on canvas, frame it, whatever you decide.
To help get you started I created a free printable to make it easier for the little ones.
Isn’t it so cute?!

Directions:
Print out the PDF and have your paint ready. I’d say red, purple or pink work best for this holiday.
Have your child dip their finger(s) in the paint to create fingerprints on the guided heart line.
After it dries, have your child sign their name at the bottom.
Finally, glue or staple the keepsake on colored construction paper.
Happy ‘Heart Day!’
