Adagio Teas sent me some samples of tea and inspired me to write this post. I was not compensated or told what to say.
I suck at self-care. I think about it a lot. Actually, all the time. But, practicing it is a different story.
I have a list in my head of things I need and want to do myself, but time gets away and I push it to another day.
With that said, I have been doing one thing every day for myself that has been happening for years. And that, is drink hot tea.
I’ve loved hot tea since I was a little girl. It reminds me of my Nana. She has the prettiest tea sets and offered me herbal tea on my visits to her house. In fact, she gave me one of her tea sets last year and I have it on display in my dining room curio.
For me, drinking tea has always been a sort of ritual. Choosing the kind that fits my mood, watching it steep and sitting down to sip and enjoy it. It warms you up and makes you feel good. Especially, if you’re under the weather.
I look forward to my tea time, especially, as a busy mom of four. My experience drinking it is a bit different now than it has been over the years, but I am always sure that I am sitting and relaxing, even if it’s only for a few minutes. I choose to not to do anything else when I drink it or else it will ruin my mood.
Drinking tea is a great way to hit the pause button during a busy day.
I’ve recently been introduced to Adagio Teas and they are wonderful. I love that there are a lot of varieties and that there’s something for everyone. Even kids!
Check out their Tree House Teas, Story Time Tea and Fairy Tale Tea. The packaging and taste rival any gourmet tea available. The Sleeping Beauty tea blend is caffeine-free, has a subtle floral scent and a nice creamy texture. My 7-year-old and I both enjoy it.
Besides the beautifully bagged tea Adagio offers, you can also purchase loose leaf tea. For me, there’s something fun about brewing loose tea leaves.
I chose White Eternal Spring for one of my samples. Spring is a sign of re-birth and an awakening after a long winter. I could definitely use some of that in my life! I am ready for spring, indeed.
White Eternal Spring is a low-caffeine tea, and as you can see in the photo below, it contains a medley of fruit and flowers. It’s refreshing and smooth and tastes great with some honey.
If you’re looking for a way to add some self-care to your day, drinking tea is certainly doable. Take a look through Adagio’s website and see what peaks your interest. They have great gift ideas and starter sets.
I saw some lovely gift sets that I think my mom would enjoy for Mother’s Day. My best friend would for sure enjoy the blends from their Zodiac line. What a unique, personalized gift that would be!
Tell me, how do you practice self-care?
