The company bbluv sent me a sample of the Rinö nasal aspirator to test out. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
It’s February and we are still in the thick of winter. I’ve had several days where I feel like I’m coming down with something so throughout the day I’ll drink a bunch of Echinacea tea, rub some essential oils on me and I’m good as new by the next morning.
I think I’ve only been really sick once this year, so I can’t really complain. My kids, however, bring home illnesses that were in their school more often than I’d like. And when my two littlest get colds, things get a little tough because their noses won’t stop running and they have no clue how to blow it.
I do a couple of things to help keep the noses running so all the yuckiness gets out. I run a cool mist humidifier all night, I try to keep them a bit elevated while they sleep so they can breathe better and I’ve been using a battery-operated nasal aspirator to remove the mucous during the day.
I have to say, using a battery-operated nasal aspirator as opposed to a manual one, makes the world of a difference. This is the first time I’ve used one and the ease of it actually surprised me!
Here are some reasons why I love the bb luv Rinö:
- Soft and safe for newborns, infants and toddlers
- Comes with 2 medical grade reusable silicone tips
- Provides a unique gentle continuous suction not available on manual aspirators
- Large transparent leak-proof collection cup
- Easy to clean and does not require filters
For full disclosure, my 3-year-old has been a champ about me using the Rinö nasal aspirator on him. It’s been so helpful in cleaning his nose. My 9-month-old was very cooperative for two days and has just now started swatting at me when he sees it coming. He doesn’t even want a tissue wiping him! Poor kid just doesn’t want to be messed with anymore.
But, in terms of effectiveness, I’m so happy I’ve been introduced to this tool. It fits well in the diaper bag and comes with us in the car and I carry it around the house.
If you’re looking for an alternative to getting mucous out of your child’s nose, this is a hygienic option that truly works! I also love that batteries came included. That’s one less thing I need to pick up at the store!
