Earlier this month I appeared on The Rhode Show to share some creative ideas for entertaining the little ones while at the beach.
Shell Scavenger Hunt
After you hunt for sea shells all day long, bring them home and turn them into a craft. One option is turning the shells into a pretty picture frame.
What’s needed:
Four craft sticks
Hot glue
Sea shells
Photo
Method:
Arrange craft sticks into a frame shape.
Glue craft sticks together.
Glue shells on to craft sticks.
Glue photo on to back of craft sticks.
Beach games
Tic Tac Toe in the Sand
- Use your finger or a stick for X’s and O’s. Or use shells and rocks as X’s and O’s.
Beach Pictionary
- Have your children draw in the sand like they would using an etch-a-sketch. Try to guess what their picture is!
Extra tip:
Carry a disposable camera with you and let you kids take pics of things they see. Develop the photos at the end of summer and make a cute photo book for them!
What kinds of activities do you and your children like to do at the beach?
