Mystic Aquarium was kind enough to invite family bloggers to the aquarium for a Mother’s Day treat. Even though it rained toward the end of our visit, we had the most perfect day!

When we arrived at Mystic, there was a huge envelope at the ticket window waiting for me with my name on it. In it, had tickets for my family and I to the aquarium, a visitor’s map, a couple of related magazines and lunch vouchers.
I can’t tell you the last time I went to Mystic Aquarium, but I was just as excited as my daughter. She literally skipped and sang her way throughout the aquarium.
The first exhibit we visited was the Beluga Whales. This was by far my favorite.
They are such beautiful and majestic creatures, and it was just breathtaking to see them right next to my daughter. Seeing her look up at them and smile, and get close to the window just filled me up inside. She’s only 2 1/2, so this was her first time here and I know she won’t forget it. Thank goodness for pictures to jog a memory!
Other fantastic exhibits we enjoyed were the sea lions, penguins, sharks and believe it or not the jelly fish! They were beautiful. Their indoor exhibit offered the opportunity to also touch some sea life. My toddler was not afraid like me. I stood back and took pictures. 🙂
Before we had lunch, we closed the day at the Spongebob 4D movie. It was my daughter’s first time in a theater environment and wearing 3D glasses. She loved everything about it, and so did I! It was quick and entertaining. A definite must-see next time you go to the aquarium.
We had such a wonderful time that we’ll be going back again this summer and taking some more family members with us. They want to experience my daughter’s excitement first hand!
This sounds (and looks) like it was a blast! I haven’t been to Mystic Aquarium in so long. Definitely have to go back soon with my nieces and nephews. Love it there!
Mystic is my absolute favorite!!!! Sounds like an amazing time!!! IT is warm enough now you can actually go outside there:)
What a great opportunity and a wonderful way to spend Mother’s Day! We haven’t been to Mystic Aquarium, but we’ll have to look into it. Glad you had such a good time!
This is AWESOME..my boyfriend and I have been wanting to go and we’d love to take his nephews to see the Spongebob 4D movie. I’m so excited now! There’s only so many things to do in RI so this mommy will do ANYTHING.
Mystic Aquarium is one of those special places we treasure visiting as a family. SO happy your daughter loved it!
Mystic is an amazing Aquarium, my family loves it, and it sounds like a beautiful way to spend Mother’s Day!
Oh, I LOVE Mystic Aquarium. My husband and I had one of those grandparent packages awhile back, and it’s definitely time to grab another one, especially with the ages of our 9 grandkids now (4 – 12, with a newborn soon!). I’m always amazed at the educational and entertainment blend, making visits perfect. Thank you for this reminder to get back to Mystic!
