This simple recipe was adapted from my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop.
We’ve been doing it this way for the past six years and we’ve never gone back to the classic Gingerbread House recipe.
The best part? You probably have most of this stuff sitting in your pantry!
What you will need:
*To create a whole village of varying size houses, you can also use pint and quart cartons to add to your display.
OJ or Milk ½ gallon carton (Cut in half and place the bottom half inside the top half.)
2 tubs of white frosting
1 box of Honey Graham Crackers
Variety of candy for decorating
Tray or plate (to place the house on)
Sugar Cones
Food Coloring (optional, to create green frosting for the trees, and other décor)
Directions:
Cut the half-gallon carton in half and place the bottom half inside the top half. Spread frosting all over carton and place graham crackers on top. Cut graham crackers where needed.
Use frosting as “glue” to decorate the house with your favorite candy treats.
Once complete, place a dab of frosting on plate or tray to keep in the house in place.
For an extra detailed decoration, add frosting, sprinkles, and candy to sugar cones and turn them upside down.
Arrange houses of varying sizes and trees to create a sweet village display!
