This sponsored post by Dunkin’ Donuts aims to spread the word about a local cause that is easy to support if you’re a coffee fan like myself. All opinions about Dunkin’ Donuts are my own.
A local initiative coffee lovers are all too familiar with is back and better than ever!
On Wednesday, May 23rd, Dunkin’ Donuts‘ will be donating $1 to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for every Iced Coffee sold in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts throughout the day.
The annual event has helped raise more than $2 million since its inception in 2010.
Iced Coffee Day Partners with Good Night Lights
And new this year, Iced Coffee Day has partnered with a local tradition called Good Night Lights.
Good Night Lights is a daily tradition in which residents, businesses and law enforcement officials let the children at Hasbro Children’s Hospital know they’re thinking of them.
Every night, at exactly 8:30 p.m., Good Night Lights participants shine flashlights (and police cars, firetrucks and ambulances turn on their lights) toward the hospital from various locations in downtown Providence. In return, patients in the hospital flicker their room lights on and off and shine their own flashlights from their windows.
Through the partnership, anytime you buy an Iced Coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts (**most locations) starting the first week of May, you will receive a small key chain flashlight that is marked with the date of Iced Coffee Day.
And that’s not all! All day long on Iced Coffee Day, Dunkin’ Donuts will be hosting mini events at various store locations, getting devoted customers excited to support this local cause and buy iced coffees.
Keep a close eye on who is working behind the counter, because some political figures, local celebrities, and even a Patriot will be at some of the stores working the windows and encouraging customers to take part in the great cause.
Iced Coffee Day Celebrates with “Block Party”
Iced Coffee Day will end with a celebration on the evening of May 23rd with a “block party” at India Point Park, where everyone who has received a flashlight are invited for a night of games, food and fun, all leading to a HUGE 8:30 p.m. flashlight flash for the children at the hospital. What an amazing sight that will be!
Be sure to mark it in your calendar or set an alert for yourself to remember this Iced Coffee Day on May 23, 2018!
