I knew Valentine’s Day was coming but I still feel like it snuck it up on me. Holidays are always fun, though, because the kids and I decorate the house and make some crafts for keepsakes.
I found this cute craft idea from Inner Child Fun that I couldn’t pass up. These adorable Cupid Cottages remind me a bit of Gingerbread Houses but much simpler to make.
Supplies needed:
- Paper bags
- Newspaper
- Construction paper
- Markers
- Glue
- Stickers
- Paper straws
- Pom Poms
Method:
Have your child draw the front of their house on the outside of the paper bag. Here they can draw a door, windows, etc.
Stuff the bag halfway with newspaper. Fold down from the top and tape or staple shut.
Glue on pom poms or paper straws if you’re using them.
Cut a roof for your house out of a piece of the construction paper and glue it on. Decorate if you’d like.
Hope this cute little cottage makes your Valentine’s Day a happy one! I’m sure your children will enjoy making them as much as you’ll love displaying them in your home.
