Recently, the Vitamin Shoppe introduced a line of Aromatherapy Oils, including carrier, essential and skincare oils that have a variety of benefits, and are also popular ingredients in DIY recipes for healthier hair and glowing skin.
Quick DIY beauty tips below:
- Dry scalp? Apply a few drops of avocado oil to help restore moisture
- Chapped lips? Add a few drops of argan oil to brown sugar for an exfoliating lip scrub
- Split ends? Try a few drops of macadamia or argan oil in your hair
- Dry skin? Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil to your bath water, soak and enjoy!
- Dry cuticles? Rub a few drops of argan oil on your nail beds for a moisturizing treat
Here are 3 fun and easy beauty recipes to try at home!
Peppermint Foot Scrub:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw sugar
- ½ cup plnt™ Coconut Oil
- 8 drops of Vitamin Shoppe Peppermint Essential Oil
Directions:
Use sugar as the base then add in oils. Mix ingredients together and apply.
Tips:
Use loofah for extra exfoliation. Try applying it in the shower to easily wash off the scrub
Avocado & Argan Oil Hair Mask:
Ingredients:
- ½ of a mashed avocado
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2-3 pumps of Vitamin Shoppe Moroccan Argan Oil
Directions:
Mix ingredients together. Heat in the microwave for 10 seconds. Let mixture cool then apply to clean, wet hair. Tie hair up and let sit for 30 minutes, then wash out.
Tips:
Make sure to mash the avocado to a fine texture with a fork before mixing in the oils. When applying the mask, begin at the front of the head near the roots, and work your way back through the rest of the hair.
