Get crafty, get organized with a family menu board

For those who know me, it’s no secret that I love to cook. My husband claims I’m a tornado in the kitchen, but I don’t know what he’s talking about.

I have several staples for dinner or holidays that I repeatedly make, but I also love to try new recipes. I subscribe to multiple cooking magazines and every month I rip out something that interests me and try to ease it into our menu rotation.

Every week before we head to the grocery store I meal plan, but it’s usually on a scrap piece of paper or on my iPhone. But, a month or so ago, my blogger friend Joanna from Baby Gators Den created an awesome menu board to hang in the house, and I knew I had to make one!

It’s super easy and fun. I don’t have as much time as I’d like to make other things, but this one was a necessity for our house. No more asking what’s for dinner, everyone can just look on the wall in the kitchen. I’m totally digging it!

Here’s the link to the original post on Life Sweet Life.

Materials needed:
– One 11×14 frame. (I bought mine from Michaels at 50% off for $15.99. I also spray painted it, as I didn’t want to keep the antique white it came as.)
– Mini clothes pins (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for about $3.00. You can also find them at The TomKat Studio)
– Hot glue gun and glue gun sticks
– Card holder for menu templates (I actually used a votive candle holder I found at Michaels for $1.00)
– Optional: Craft scissors or hole punch. (I used squiggly craft scissors)
– Menu background printable (Life Sweet Life created a free generic printable, click here to download.)

I can make you a personalized one that would look just like mine. Visit my Etsy shop to purchase.

How to assemble:

1. Create or download menu printable.

2. Develop printable into 11×14 photo or poster. (I did mine at Walmart for around $5.00, same day processing)

3. Place printable in frame.

4. Use hot glue gun to adhere clothes pins to glass in appropriate place. (I spray painted both my frame and clothes pins, but that’s optional.

5. Glue your card holder(s) on to the glass.

6. Write or print out dinner choices on meal cards. (I wrote mine out on card stock paper.)

7. Finally, place cards in holders and begin your meal planning!
