{Sneak Peek} Blogger tour of The Container Store in Rhode Island

May 15, 2014 By Courtney

Organization freaks in Rhode Island are squealing with excitement as a new store is opening in Cranston at Garden City Center. The Container Store has come to town and will hold its grand opening May 17!

This is The Container Store’s 66th location and the first one for Rhode Island.

During opening weekend, The Container Store has partnered with Crossroads Rhode Island and will donate 10% of Grand Opening Weekend sales to this wonderful nonprofit that’s such an important part of the local community.

I am so thrilled to have been invited to a blogger preview of store, and had such a great time. They treated us to a nice lunch before the tour, and even sent us home with a Store More gift card! So, a big thank you to them!

I had never been to a Container Store before, and seeing it in person was everything I had hoped for and more. Besides the fact that it’s super easy to find stuff, there’s clear descriptions on the products as to what you can do with them. Every time I saw something, I’d turn to another blogger and say “I need that! How have I been living without this?!”

It’s easy to be overwhelmed because there is so much to choose from. But, we received some great advice from our seasoned tour guide. Don’t do everything all at once. Start with one drawer, or one closet or area.

The tour got me to thinking what I wanted to do in my own home, so I took mental notes of what I’d attack first.

Some products I fell in love with while there, in no particular order:

1. Eagle Creek™ Pack-It™ Folders: These are essential for traveling! They look so plain when you look at the packaging, but when you see what they can do, you’ll never want to pack a suit case without them! Eagle Creek™ Pack-It™ Folders keep everything from suits to shirts neatly folded, compact and wrinkle-free.

2. Plastic Shoe Box: These are exclusive to The Container Store and are super affordable! Did you know the average woman has 60 shoes in her closet? Crazy, right? I just learned that during our store tour. The remarkable simplicity of the shoe box design allows you to securely stack the boxes for efficiency, yet access your shoes with ease. Use them for shoes or other odds and ends. Price is $1.89 for one!

3. Luxe Acrylic Modular System: I want to start keeping things where I can see them and out of my 16-month-old’s reach. He keeps stealing my mascara and hiding it in random places like my slippers! This Acrylic Modular System has drawers that stack securely for vertical storage and will look gorgeous on a bathroom counter. They hold everything from makeup to jewelry!

4. White elfa Pantry Door & Wall Rack Solution: I’m in the beginning stages of redoing my walk-in pantry, and I fell in love with this wall solution the second I saw it. Their innovative, top-rated elfa Door & Wall Rack system makes the most of often-wasted vertical space on a door or wall and is totally customizable! It’s also easy to assemble, no tools necessary!

5. Medium Colorwave Smart Store Tote: Sometimes I feel I’m running out of space for craft supplies for my kids and it can quickly become a disaster. This Smart Store Tote is one bin, with several inserts for you to organize your supplies. Choose from a range of sizes of transparent colored or clear open totes, then select inserts and trays to organize the items inside.

Take a look at some of the pictures I took during the tour. If you live in Rhode Island, hopefully you can get a chance to at least check it out. Just try to “contain yourself.” 🙂
