Disclosure: For the purpose of writing this review ShutterCal gave me a photo shoebox and print credits to test out. I was not paid and all comments are mine and were not influenced in any way.
If you’re like me and find yourself taking a ton of pictures on any given day, you could probably use a little photo organization.
A new 365 photo site called ShutterCal.com encourages you to capture the most important moment of each day.
When the folks at ShutterCal reached out to see if I wanted to try their service, I couldn’t wait to see how a site like this would work for me and my MANY pictures.
The site likens itself as a modern take on the family photo album, except with ShutterCal you store your photos in a shoebox. Intrigued? Yeah, me too. It doesn’t matter what kind of device or photo app you use most, the idea is just to put your best one on ShutterCal.
An interesting feature ShutterCal has is it’s also an online community where you can share and view photos with other members. You can also leave comments on the photos. This could be a cute way to share images with family and friends.
To make the life of moms and dads easier, ShutterCal actually has a free app for your iPhone, which I’ve primarily been using. I’ve found it to be the easiest way to upload my photos since I always take pics with my phone.
Here’s how it works:
- After you take your photo, upload it to your ShutterCal calender through their website or through the app.
- Choose the day the photo was taken and then caption it. (That’s a fun feature, the caption ends up getting printed on the back of your photo. However, captioning photos is optional.)
- Once your month is filled up, ShutterCal’s print service combines your photos and journaling together into packs of prints, delivered monthly throughout your project.
Check out how adorable the ShutterCal shoe box is below! Receiving your monthly prints in the mail could be a new fun and exciting tradition for your family.
Who doesn’t love getting mail? Well, when it’s not a bill, of course!
Aren’t the photos adorable? They’re like a throwback, channeling Polaroid pics from my childhood, except way cooler.
The prints I ordered came out beautiful and I really love how it labels them, for example, “Day 13” with my photo caption. I have mommy brain big time and couldn’t tell you what I ate for breakfast, so this feature has been great!
The awesome folks at ShutterCal, which is a Rhode Island-based company, (shout out to my home state!) wants one of my Mod Mommy readers to try it out too.
One lucky winner will receive a ShutterCal shoebox and a print credit good toward one month of photos. The prize is valued at $34.98.

I take tons of pictures, at least a few every day! What a cool product!
You could have a cool 365 journal since you take that many! 🙂
Oh my – I take photos CONSTANTLY. It’s a bit ridiculous. But I love it – all the moments I have documented to remember forever. LOVE.
This would totally work for you! 🙂
Love this!!!!! Such a great idea!
I did the picture a day for a year, and it’s harder than you think – to actually take one photo everyday, for a whole year. Don’t cheat and just put anything from any day, and it becomes a challenge.
That’s so true and a good tip. Thanks Rick!
This is such a great idea! I’d especially love to have this year documented.
This would be great for you!!!
I love shuttercal! It’s the best way to organize a photo-a-day project.
I’ve been taking a picture every day for almost five years now
