If we were to have a conversation about what it’s been like this summer with four kids, I’d tell you it’s been my hardest one yet. My oldest just turned 7 and as you know, my youngest was born in May. So, my kids all have entirely different abilities and needs.
I’ve tried to make this summer memorable for my three oldest and I think I’ve succeeded. We’ve been able to go to the beach, enjoy pool days, visit the zoo and aquarium and multiple playgrounds.
It has not been easy. On most of those outings, my mom, sister or husband have been there to help. I’ve also had the help of some really awesome products.
Here are some portable products I can’t live without.
Baby Carrier
Whether you have one kid or four kids like me, there will be times you need the use of both of your hands. Besides the many benefits mom and baby experience while baby wearing, you can pretty much accomplish anything while doing so.
I’m loving my LÍLLÉbaby Complete Embossed carrier. It’s so soft, breathable and the back support is amazing.
I wear Crosby so many times a day I can’t even count. This carrier is one of the best purchases I’ve made for this fourth baby of mine. I can’t recommend it enough. The reviews on their site speak for themselves.
Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock
While I am a huge baby wearer, I also like alternatives. When I shop with all my kids in tow, it’s helpful to use my Binxy Baby Shopping Car Hammock at the supermarket or Target.
The Binxy Baby is a safe shopping cart alternative. We all know what happens when we put the entire infant car seat in the shopping cart….there’s no room for what you need! With this baby hammock, everything sneaks underneath it. It’s been tested for safety and also has some wonderful reviews, from real parents!
Pop N’ Play™ Deluxe Playard
It took most of the summer, but my little guy can now hang outside with us safely while we play in the yard. How cool is this Summer Infant Portable Pop n’ Play Portable Playard?
The playard is super lightweight and compact. It can be set up and taken down in seconds, making it perfect for on the go travel. And if you’d like to set this up inside, just don’t clip on the full coverage canopy. This playard will be my savior next summer when Crosby starts learning how to walk. 👍🏻
Travel Potty
I had always wanted a travel potty for the car, but honestly wasn’t sure how often we’d use it. Well, if you have kids and don’t have one, go get one! We’ve used our Time-To-Go® Travel Potty so many times this summer.

This potty is compact and fits right underneath my front passenger seat. It’s not in the way and has been great to have on hand when at playgrounds. Did you know that most playgrounds don’t have public bathrooms? I mean, my kids drink a ton of water and pretty much always have to pee, making this travel potty a no-brainer to have on hand.
