I was sent the Osmo Numbers Set for the purpose of this post. I was not paid and was not told what to say. As always, I only review items that I feel are an authentic fit to this blog and are of relevance to my readers. All opinions are mine.
It looks like a game, but your kids will really be learning math. Osmo Numbers has been a great product to have on hand this summer to help some of my little ones stay away from the Summer Slide.
I’ve talked about how much I love Osmo games and this one makes me feel no different. (Check out my post on some of their other wonderful activities.)
Osmo is a unique gaming accessory for the iPad that comes with games that will change the way your child plays. When you purchase Osmo, you’ll first need a kit.
Each kit includes a white iPad stand and a red reflector for the iPad camera. This is needed for all Osmo games.
Numbers, in particular, is a fantastic math tool because it’s showing kids there are many ways to solve a problem.
The kit comes with number tiles and all your child has to do to play is, slide the tiles to add, remove tiles to subtract and connect them to multiply them.
I like that when my daughter plays Numbers she isn’t just staring at the screen. She’s exercising her brain and physically solving math problems. And Osmo’s real-time feedback lets kids learn through experimentation in a stress-free environment.
I think the game is great for practice and/or learning. It also will build a confidence in your child. In my photos, you can see how beautiful the imaging is. The fish are colorful and the animation not only makes the game fun, but it keeps them interested.
Here’s what my daughter says about Osmo Numbers:
“I think it is really cool and it’s fun. I like that once you finish one level, it goes to the next. That makes it more challenging for me and I like that it does that.”
“I think Osmo is very easy to teach people.”
I mean, how cool is that?! My 7-year-old is enjoying math!
