Growing up, I was lactose intolerant, but somehow I grew out of it. I found I was no longer allergic to dairy when I was pregnant with my first child.
With her, I craved cold milk. One day, I drank a glass because I was craving it and felt totally fine after. And from then on, I drank an eight ounce glass of milk each afternoon.
My doctor was psyched about this development, as she repeatedly was telling me at each yearly physical that I was not getting the amount of calcium needed. In fact, most women aren’t.
But, I love whole milk. To me, it’s the only choice when I’m snacking on chocolate or something spicy! And since my three children drink whole, I just end up drinking that, too. But, I am a bit worried about the calories packed in a glass of whole milk.
I was just introduced to a new, innovative beverage that is designed for milk lovers who aren’t getting what they desire from their current beverage of choice.
The product is called MilkWise and the company says it’s going to “flip the dairy industry on its head.”
MilkWise is a refreshing milk beverage with less sugar, fewer calories and more calcium than traditional milk.
I just sampled three types of MilkWise products a few days ago and they all tasted fresh, smooth and delicious.
Right now, my fridge is stocked with a carton of MilkWise Original, Vanilla and Reduced Sugar Vanilla.
I opened the Original first because I was craving coffee milk. I love that you can use the Original milk beverage any way you want it. You can add it to cereal, eggs, coffee or however you please!
MilkWise is a proprietary blend of water, low fat milk, sugar and other ingredients blended together.
If you’re wondering if MilkWise is safe for kids to drink, it is! It has more calcium than traditional milk and no artificial sweeteners, making it a great choice for your family.
If you’re interested in trying MilkWise, there’s a sampling tour coming to New England soon.
Along with hitting store shelves in New England, the “Taste of MilkWise” tour kicks off in Boston on September 16, 2015 at Long Wharf.
The modern truck will offer samples of MilkWise and one-of-a-kind treats from Boston’s Flour Bakery.
Actress Monica Potter will be joining the MilkWise tour, too! I know fans of the show Parenthood will be excited about that!
If you can’t make the Boston stop to try MilkWise, there’s a bunch of other cities in New England that are hosting the sampling truck.
Stops will be made in:
- Springfield, Massachusetts
- Portland, Maine
- Providence, Rhode Island
- Hartford, Connecticut
- Manchester, New Hampshire
I’ll definitely be at the Providence stop, so let me know if you plan to come by and try some MilkWise!
Keep up with all things MilkWise and find out what’s new!
