I could have made this holiday gift guide for kids a mile long, because there is so much to choose from these days.
But, I’ve found some great ideas that can help you get a great gift, even if it’s a bit last minute. Hot holiday toys are hard to find sometimes, but any of these could put a smile on your little one’s face!

What is it: Hello magazine for babies and toddlers delivers colorful images, age-appropriate stories and fun activities parent and child can enjoy together.
* Encourages quality time together
* Offers story-time tips for parents
* Engages babies and young children visually
* Helps parents teach their kids about the joys of reading
* Supports early language development
Why you’ll love it: It’s mailed cleanly wrapped and made of a safe, durable material with rounded corners and no staples.
This kind of gift is a great idea because baby can enjoy it all year!
Where to find it: To order by phone call 1-800-255-9517 or subscribe online.
*Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Imagination Treehouse– good for boy or girl! Ages 3+ (We are huge Daniel Tiger fans in our house.)
What is it: Join Daniel, Katerina, and O the Owl on a grr-ific adventure as they use their imaginations to transform the fun-filled Treehouse to an action-packed space station.
Why you’ll love it: This 3-in-1 playset lets kids take Daniel Tiger for a ride in the rocket elevator, give O a push on the swing, or help Katerina twirl around in her room to name a few. And, the 13 additional play pieces help inspire creative interaction and add to the fun!
Where to find it: Sold at Toys R Us in-store or online. I’ve also seen it on Amazon.
* Cabbage Patch Kids® celebrates its 30th Anniversary! (for boy or girl, age 3+)
What is it: To mark the occasion for the iconic toy brand, JAKKS Pacific introduced Cabbage Patch Kids® Celebration Kids.
Why you’ll love it: First of all, a toy with no batteries, hooray! I love that I owned several of these, so it’s great to be able to gift it to my toddler. They’re dressed in fun, playful, party themed fashions with
brightly colored hair streaks. Each girl also comes with a sweet cupcake comb and each boy comes with a pair of trendy glasses.
Where to find it: Walmart, KMart, Target or Toys R Us
*Citrus Lane Box
(for boy or girl, newborn to 5 years old)
What is it: Citrus Lane creates surprise packages for kids and their parents. They send an assortment of the best products–recommended by real moms and dads–right to your door each month. Customers can subscribe monthly, gift or save by signing up for a package. A variety of individual boxes and gift sets are available.
Why you’ll love it: My box came beautifully wrapped and was tailored to the age and stage of my son. The packages start with newborns, and go up to 5 years of age. In each box you’ll find four to five top–rated products, along with insights into why they love and recommend these items.
A peek inside my Citrus Lane box: Both my 3 year old and 11 month are obsessed with the Boon bath appliques that came inside the box. They’re fun to use and don’t absorb water. That way you can say bye bye to mold in the tub! We are also big fans of Plum Organics products, and I was excited to see a teething biscuit in there for my son. Since trying them, we buy them every week for him. Who knew kale and apple could taste so good?
A deal for Mod Mommy readers: Enter CLBLOGGER promo code at checkout for $10 off any Citrus Lane subscription. “Offer Terms: can only be applied to subscription purchases by new Citrus Lane customers. It cannot be applied to gift subscriptions. Subscriptions automatically renew to full retail price. You may cancel anytime.”
TOMY Toys Sweet Messages Photo Bug (age 6 months and up)
What is it: The Sweet Messages Photo Bug by TOMY is the first-ever talking photo album for babies, ensuring loved ones are never too far away. It holds up to eight pages with the unique ability to record a special message for each photo.
How does it work: A colored button at the top of each page shows when a message is being recorded and when it’s being played back. The Sweet Messages Photo Bug also stands up when it’s not in use, so you can use it as a photo frame.
Where to find it: Amazon, Target, Diapers.com to name a few.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!
