A brief thought on this September 11th:
When something so horrific and tragic happens, it becomes etched on our hearts and minds forever.
All of us can say we remember where we were, how we found out, what we did next, how we felt in the weeks and years after, and how nothing would ever be the same again.
On this day each year, I think of the survivors and those most affected. The children, the first responders, those who lost a loved one and those who lived in New York City who lost their sense of safety in their beloved hometown. They all are a true testament to how strong we as people can be.
I don’t think I need to say ‘let’s never forget.’ Because, honestly, how could we? Today, and as we should every day, let’s be thankful, hold our loved ones close and remember those who are still fighting for our freedom.
God Bless America.
Beautiful. And so true. It is more than something we have to try to remember, in fact it is sometimes something we aim to forget. God bless this great land.
