Easter Sunday is this weekend and if you haven't painted eggs yet or done a small craft with your kids, don't worry! We haven't painted our eggs either and we've only done a few crafts.
Usually, I like to come up with my own creations, but this year I'm too busy to bother because baby #4 will be here in 22 days and there is just so much to do.
We're getting our house ready, I have two doctor's appointments a week now and I feel like I live in my car shuttling the kids around.
If you're in a similar boat, fear not, I found some super cute craft ideas on Pinterest that your kids will enjoy making and very little supplies are needed.
Easter Silhouette Craft
What drew me to this craft is that your child can do all of it on their own with very little assistance. It involves a glue stick, strips of paper and a cut out silhouette.
Supplies needed:
- Bunny template (find it at easypeasyandfun.com)
- Printer
- Two sheets of white paper per shape (heavier paper is better) – one for the outline and one for background
- Paper in many colors
- Scissors
- Glue
Method:
Start by cutting out the silhouette outlines.
Do not discard the little bunny tail.
Cut plenty of strips of colorful paper. (Use scissors, a paper trimmer or just rip the paper with your hands to make the strips.)
Glue the strips of paper one of the white sheets of paper.
Once all the paper strips are on their place apply a glue on one side of the paper with the bunny silhouette.
Glue it on top of the paper with all those colorful strips.
Lastly, glue on bunny tail and your Easter Silhouette Craft is ready to be displayed.
Handprint Flower Cards
We make cards to hand out for each holiday because it's fun to do. And the kids really enjoy passing them out at a relative's house. Again, not much needed for this one. White paper, a printer, glue stick and construction paper.
I found this craft by Stacey from Glued to My Crafts Blog on Pinterest and loved how simple it was. I tweaked the method a bit, but you can do it either this way or the other blogger's way. 😊
Supplies needed:
- Colored paper {definitely make sure you have GREEN}
- White paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Pen
Method:
Trace your child's hands on some colored paper with a pen. Trim out. Repeat for each card you want to make.
Grab some green paper and cut out a simple stem and leaf shape for your flower design. Repeat for each card you want to make.
Next, glue the stem and flower on to your white paper. I cut an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper in half and used that as the size of our card.
After that, glue the white paper with the finished flower on a larger sized piece of construction paper.
You can continue to decorate the front of the card or leave as is.
Optional: Turn the card over and glue on an Easter greeting you printed from your printer and then, have your child sign the card.
Carrot Footprints
This Carrot Footprint craft by One Krieger Chick is my favorite one yet because it is so gosh darn adorable. It's a smidge messier than the other two crafts but your kids will really enjoy it.
Supplies needed:
- Paint
- White paper
- Strips of green paper for carrot top
- Tape or glue stick
Method:
Paint foot with orange paint and create footprint on white paper.
Cut footprint out.
Cut strips of green paper.
Tape or glue green strips on back (top) of “carrot.”
