Alpine Lace® Deli Cheese event with Kristi Yamaguchi

May 10, 2014 By Courtney

Disclosure: I attended an Alpine Lace Deli Cheese sponsored event and was compensated in exchange for this post. All opinions are mine.

It’s not everyday I get to rub elbows with a celebrity.

Alpine Lace event with Kristi YamaguchiI’ve met dozens thanks to my job at a TV news station, but nothing compares to spending an evening with them.

When I was invited by Alpine Lace to spend a few hours with Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, I jumped at the chance. She’s career and family-focused and I love how she juggles both just like the rest of us moms.

The event was held on Monday, May 5, at the beautiful Taj Hotel in Boston on their rooftop. The weather was perfect and we had no trouble getting into the city from Rhode Island.

When we arrived, the folks at Alpine Lace welcomed us and quickly placed us into groups. The night was planned out in three stations, so after all was said and done we were able to pair Alpine Lace Deli Swiss Cheese with the food of our choice, learn the rumba and then chat with Kristi about our “life ingredients” and what fuels us during the day.

Check out what I paired my Alpine Lace Deli Swiss Cheese with. Prosciutto topped with a fig spread on a tasty cracker. Yum! I had four of them, even though you’re only seeing one in the picture!

Next, I had a chance to learn the rumba, just like Kristi did when she was on Dancing With The Stars. Even though I’ve danced most of my life, I’ve never danced 8 months pregnant! It sure was interesting, but Jorge was a great teacher and it was so fun!

Finally, we had the opportunity to share our “life ingredients” with Kristi. Alpine Lace invites anyone who visits their website to share theirs too. They want to know “what goes into a happy, fulfilling life?” Courtney Caligiuri and Kristi Yamaguchi at Alpine Lace event Here’s a pic of Kristi and I next to my “life ingredients.” I believe each day I should: laugh until my belly hurts, enjoy the warm sunshine and eat a tasty meal. Sounds like the perfect day! I had a blast hanging out with other local bloggers and hearing what Kristi is passionate about. It was interesting for sure, and fun to boogie on the dance floor learning the rumba. If you want to try Alpine Lace Swiss Cheese for yourself it’s available either packaged or at the deli counter. It is made with wholesome ingredients like reduced-fat milk. It’s calcium-rich and a good source of protein—meaning your bones and your muscles will thank you.
