I can’t believe all in a week’s time my three-year old has aged by leaps and bounds.
One week ago today my little girl started preschool, and since then she has accomplished things that have pleasantly surprised me.
1. For starters, she’s potty trained! Hooray! I now only have one child in diapers. In my daughter’s defense, she was well on her way to being potty trained in April, but she got sidetracked with a medical hiccup that caused her to revert to her old diaper ways. No biggie, I gave her the time she needed and she came around quick.
2. Big girl bed! We converted her toddler bed into a full bed, and took the gate off her door. Now she sleeps like a starfish with arms and legs out and joyously leaves her room in the morning to come wake us up. I love it, and hope she always does it.
3. Another milestone this week, my little one moved off the cup and straw to just drinking from a cup. I’m not sure what the age is for any of milestones, but I’m still taken aback at how it just all unfolded in one week!
I’ll admit, all of this makes me sad on some level because it really seems that she’s a little girl and not my baby. But, it’s wonderful to see her do things on her own and I can’t help but smile….even when she uses the entire roll of toilet paper to go potty! We can work on her Eco-friendly habits next week. ๐
When your kids hit their milestones did it just seem like it was one thing after the next?
It’s amazing how quickly little ones seem to grow sometimes! These are great milestones to be able to check off!!
Wow! What a list! Congrats to the big girl! ๐
These are great!!! It’s so awesome to see them grow right before your eyes and once it starts, it just keeps going. My babies are (almost) 9 and 6 and it feels like I was just taking the sippy cup from them. But a they grow the milestones are just as great. My youngest is reading so well and I look at her as she reads and wonder where the words come from because in my mind she is only a baby.
So true! I know soon my kids will be smarter than me! Haha
WOW! Those are some milestones, for sure! Addie went from wobbly 4 steps to almost running in 3 weeks and I am so amazed. Kids are, well… AMAZING! I have to say- I think it’s the amazing moms before them that harness and share this power ๐ YAY!
Aw thanks Chelley!! It was a huge week for sure!
You are a total super mom, Courtney! Good for you! These milestones are HUGE. And the toilet paper pic is priceless. 100% worth it!
Thanks so much Jackie! So nice of you to say! ๐
Yay! What a great week. I too find the milestones a little bittersweet. First we’re trying to teach them to hold a spoon and then we blink and we’re teaching them how to tie their shoes. My advice…don’t blink!!
Haha good advice!
